Who we are

The Velvet Heritage is a luxury event planning and design company registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria, registration number 9739276, with a studio in Victoria Island, Lagos. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to The Velvet Heritage.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, event type and the details you include in the enquiry form or send by WhatsApp or email.
  • Information collected automatically: basic technical data such as browser type, device type, approximate location by IP, and the pages you visit — only where you have accepted optional cookies.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare a proposal or quotation
  • To plan, coordinate and deliver an event you have engaged us for
  • To share necessary details with vendors working on your event
  • To keep our own records, including invoices and tax records as required by law
  • To improve this website, where you have accepted analytics cookies

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not add you to marketing lists without your consent.

Cookies and your choices

When you first visit this site you are asked to accept or decline cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser so we do not ask again on every visit.

  • Essential cookies keep the site working — for example remembering your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off.
  • Optional analytics cookies help us understand which pages are useful. These are only used if you select "Accept cookies".

If you select "Decline", optional cookies are not used. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, which will bring the cookie notice back on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies directly in your browser.

Sharing with third parties

We share information only where it is needed to deliver your event or run this site: with vendors and venues engaged for your event, with our website hosting provider, and with professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it. Where we use messaging or email services such as WhatsApp or email providers, your communications are also subject to their own privacy terms.

Photography and video

We photograph and film the events we plan. Where we intend to use images of your event in our portfolio or on social media, we ask for your written permission first, and we will respect a request for a private event with no published imagery.

How long we keep information

Enquiries that do not proceed are kept for up to 24 months. Records relating to events we delivered — contracts, invoices and correspondence — are kept for at least six years to meet Nigerian tax and accounting requirements.

Data protection and your rights

We handle personal information in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. You may ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it where we are not required to keep it, or stop using it for marketing. Email info@thevelvetheritage.com and we will respond within 30 days.

We take reasonable security measures to protect your information, including restricted access and secure hosting. No website can promise absolute security, and we do not claim any formal security certification.
